Lanterns of the Hollow
★★★★★ 4.5
Lanterns of the Hollow is a slow, atmospheric adventure and I mean that as high praise. You play a lamplighter walking through a hushed village, tapping to examine things, piecing together what happened here from notes, objects, and quiet conversations. The pacing is deliberate, almost meditative.
The puzzles are gentle — more about noticing than about brute logic — and the mood is the real draw. Rain on cobblestones, warm windows, a soundtrack that barely rises above a whisper. I found myself just standing in scenes to listen.
If you want fast action, look elsewhere. If you want a story that unfolds like a good short film, this one stayed with me for days.
